Welcome to my monthly round up of my work both in parliament and in the constituency of Na h-Eileanan an Iar. Torcuil Crichton and newly elected MSP Donald MacKinnon Scottish Election: There was a fantastic start to May with the election of Donald MacKinnon as our new Labour MSP for Na h-Eileanan an Iar. Almost half of homes in the Western Isles rely on heating oil. There’s uncertainty over prices and supply and to get a picture we can present to Ministers the Labour Rural Research Group, basically backbench Labour MPs with rural seats, is undertaking a national survey.
