2024 - 2025 recap

Dear islander,

It has been an honour to represent you in Parliament over the last year.

You are my boss, so I think it is important to update you on what I have been up to.

I hope I have proved to be a new voice for Na h-Eileanan an Iar as I have raised your concerns on the floor of the House of Commons, with Government Ministers, and in the media over the last 12 months.

In that time, I have opened a constituency office in Stornoway and appointed staff across the island chain and in Westminster to deal with the issues you face daily.   To date they have handled over 1300 cases. Almost 10 percent of people who voted in the General Election in the islands have been in touch.   I have also held regular surgeries in all parts of the Western Isles and used phone surgeries to contact people at times that suit them.

I am here to serve all islanders and if you have any matter you wish to raise, please contact my office and we will make sure you get your voice heard.  In the first year I have held surgeries in every district of the Western Isles and hold telephone surgeries and home visits when times suit constituents.

Serving as the MP for Na h-Eileanan an Iar is a huge privilege, but the most important part of the work is representing your views and responding to your needs.  No issue is too big or too small, so keep in touch if there is anything you need support with.

Beò ann an dòchas,

Torcuil Crichton MP
